I received a second postcard from Sicily recently. As with the prior one, the sender knows what I like. Italian food and postcards!
Postcard caption:
“Dolci Siciliani. [top right] Ravioli dolci di ricotta [bottom left] Cassata [bottom right] Cannoli”
I love Italian food – it’s probably my favourite cuisine, but I always thought they were weak on desserts (and the cassata picture does nothing to change my mind on that). Other than gelato, I’ve never had a killer Italian dessert or sweet treat. I have had more than my share of cannoli, but none that looked as good as the one on the postcard. And the deep-fried ricotta ravioli definitely seems delicious, as the sender relates:
Postcard message:
“They sure like cannoli here – it’s everywhere. I just can’t bring myself to eat deep fried past, though I’m sure you’d be all over it. we’ve had good food here – chick pea fritters are my favourite. The gelato has been disappointing – we’d been told it was the best in Italy but is’ nowhere near the best.
[top left] Update: I had the ravioli dolci di ricotta – delicious!!!”
What’s with the back design of this postcard though? It appears to be of a cathedral in Palermo which has nothing to do with the postcard’s front. And I’m not sure the super-imposed lemons and oranges are necessary, but funny!
Interesting! You like postcards from Ghana? bonsiee@mail.com

Thanks for the comment Emmanuel. Africa (particularly central and southern Africa) is the continent I most want postcards from, as I have so few. I have none from Ghana so I’d definitely love that!
