I’ve been profiling small countries lately, so this is a great time to showcase this gem from Fiji. This is the first postcard I’ve posted from the Oceania region (the smallest region in the Collection – likely because it’s so cursedly far away from me). I found this postcard buried in a pile of papers in a storeroom years ago.
Here’s the back of the postcard. I love found postcards as the messages tend to be such a fun mystery (e.g. “smoke bombs”?!?).
“Turtle Island – Fiji. One of Fiji’s top tourist resorts”
“Bula (Hi!) How’s your summer been going. Is Bill the Cat still alive? Well, my family and I are presently in Fiji and tonight we leave for Australia. It’s been a nice rest. So What have you been up to? More smoke bombs? Well, just don’t blow up Canada o.k. I’d like to get back! Take care! Bye!”
