A couple months ago I was in Leamington, Ontario for a few days. Despite my best efforts, I not could find a single postcard while there.
After lamenting this widely, word got back to my in-laws living in Leamington. Much to my delight, this week I was happy to find 3 postcards from there in my mailbox (one for each member of our family). Here’s mine:
Here’s the backside:
[Top] “friends of point pelee. Point Pelee National Park”
[Bottom] “Background – Mash Boardwalk, Green Frog, Fragrant Water Lilly, Painted Turtle”
“Dear Glen. I am sending you a picture of what you missed on your trip to Leamington.”
The postcards are all from Point Pelee, an amazing national park near Leamington. But when we were at Collasanti’s – a tourist destination/trap without equal in Canada, they had zero postcards! This is an unforgivable act (but I’ll forgive them as their home fries more than made up for it).
It’s great to have these fine postcards to add to my otherwise meagre items from southwest Ontario.
