I had a great postcard month this January. I got some cool ones mailed to me, bought a few, and sent myself one from a birthday getaway in our city.
My daughter also sent me a postcard from our hotel. But I love these memories. Here’s the one she sent me:
Here’s the back:
“Main photo: Toronto skyline as seen from Toronto Island. From top right: cafe on Queen Street, theatre district at night, baby polar bear at the Toronto Zoo, Blue Jays baseball at Skydome.
It’s time for a little T.O. Come visit us soon!”
“Dear Daddy Gleny. Happy birthday! I love you! You are so nice to me. We are staying at the the Marriot. We are going to go to the aquarim for the first time in Toronto! Love.”
Here’s the postcard I sent myself:
“The old and the new: the historic Flat Iron building in Toronto’s exciting downtown.”
“Getting older isn’t so grand, but spending a weekend with my wonderful family is! To celebrate my birthday we are being tourists in our own city. The kid won a free hotel stay at the Marriot Yorkville- very nice! We explored Yorkville yesterday – underground in the Path as it is deadly cold January. Then we hung out in bathrobes, watched movies, ate too much pizza, and had birthday cupcakes. Now we ate too much brunch and are off to the aquarium! Awesome times – it makes getting old worth it!
