A postcard arrived recently, that is a instant highlight of the Collection. It can be either thought of as a post-modernist parody of postcards or rather just a postcard for dummies:
I am particularly fond of this postcard. First, it has a welcome home on this blog as it explains quite clearly and with handy step-by-step instructions about what a postcard is.
This item is one few samples I have of the postcard genre, postcards-of-postcards. I love postcards so naturally postcards about postcards are absolutely a delight (and my second favourite type after tacky or bizarre ones).
Here’s the backside:
“Saw this and thought of you. There’s a certain irony with it, as I found that old stamp lying around and have spent ages trying to find out how much it costs to send a postcard and I can’t so I’m in contravention of #4 a) sticking 2 stamps on b) neither have the Queen’s face.”
This postcard is also notable in that it may be the only sample I have a postcard message taking the entire allotted space yet comprising only ONE (albeit run-on) sentence!
