We are starting to get signs that spring may just come to us one day. But I’m stuck at my computer working on an assignment I really don’t want to do. So here’s a postcard of the could not have said it better sort.
I received the art postcard a few weeks ago from a friend visiting Montreal, Quebec:
That is one severely dour boat. It’s like the right three people want to jump into the lake and end it all, the left two will let them, and the middle one wants you to jump in too.
The painting is by Peter Doig and is from a travelling exhibit (Canadian Art has an article on the exhibit). Here’s the back side for details:
“Peter Doig. No Foreign Lands. Figures in a Red Boat, 2005-2007. New York, private collection.”
“Dear Glen. This was my favourite image of the special exhibition. It was interesting to see Chihuly sculptures in Vegas, Phoenix and Montreal and see how they work in different environments!”
