It wasn’t that long ago that Sunday shopping was illegal in Ontario, but now with a day off and not much else to do Ontarians have embraced shopping all weekend. And what better place to do that than St. Marys, Ontario as this recent arrival so vividly portrays:
St. Marys is a small town in Southern Ontario near Stratford and London. I’ve been through it, but I had no idea that shopping there was such a blast! I love the purple apple-shaped guitar and the giant cock.
Here’s the flip side:
[Top right] “Our stamp meter at work” [Note this is likely the first non-automated postcard I have received with an individual postal meter stamp!]
[Lower right] “Only women go to St. Marys it seems!” [I think the men are at sensibly at the Tim Horton’s to avoid being trampled in the streets during the women’s consumerist frenzy.]
