This post is dedicated to the greatly-appreciated donations of the patrons of my collection.
Over the years, the collection has had many patrons, but one family in particular has shown incredible largesse over the years. Two of the wings (i.e. Ikea emus) in the collection are thus named after this family. Although their origins are in small-town Ontario in a place (which is not really worth the drive), they have since circumnavigated the globe and sent me back fine artefacts from their many exotic destinations.
Including, this fine specimen:
“Greetings from Sorrento!
We’re here with X and spent the day touring Capri in a 7 seater convertible and now I’m red like a lobster. Is this the first butterfly shape postcard? Bet it’s the first one with a butterfly woman in a Polish photoshoot pose!!!”
Indeed, it is the first – and only – butterfly shaped postcard in my collection!
Although, I redact the names and addresses of my patrons to protect the innocent, I want them to know that the collection is forever indebted to their efforts. And, of course, we are always seeking continual support – so donate now!
